QUALIFICATIONS:
College student with a minimum of 60 hours and 2.8 G.P.A.
Strong Math and English background, evidenced by college transcript
Bachelors or Associate degree (Preferred)
REPORTS TO: AVID District Director/AVID Site Coordinator
JOB GOAL: To aid and support student s and the District by providing tutoring services to AVID elective students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Determine, from student notes and discussions, the concepts that need to be reviewed.
Evaluate student binders, including calendars, class and textbook notes, etc.
Assist students in any subject area where help is needed.
Assist in teaching study skills and other skills needed for college preparation.
Conduct tutorial sessions in all areas of mathematics.
Conduct mini-lessons in the process of writing in all subject areas, study skills and other aspects of college preparation.
Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students to follow.
Work with students in any phase of the writing process, such as brainstorming, clustering, revision and editing.
Communicate frequently and honestly with the AVID Site Coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern.
Must attend six (6) hours of AVID training
Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Salary Range: $15.00/hour
Length: Part-time, as needed

EVALUATION :
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Pulaski County Special School District's Board policy.
