Atlantic Health System Reg Polysomnography Tech, Per Diem, Livingston in Livingston, New Jersey

Atlantic Health System is seeking a per-diem Registered Polysomnography Tech for the Sleep Center in Livingston, NJ, to work varies shift, including weekends as needed.

Essential Function/Reponsibilities:

As a Per Diem polysomnographic technologist, you may be responsible for conducting daytime responsibilities including MSLTs, MWTs, Home Sleep Testing education, and monitoring patients during daytime Polysomnography testing when needed or conducting overnight Polysomnograms. This role requires expertise in performing and/or scoring polysomnograms, as well as knowledge of adult and pediatric sleep disorders.

Responsibilities:

• Perform polysomnograms and other sleep-related diagnostic tests on patients according to established protocols and standards.

• Staff Home Sleep Testing Access Site as needed.

• Monitor patients during sleep studies, ensuring accurate data collection and patient safety.

• Analyze and score polysomnographic recordings, identifying sleep stages, respiratory events, cardiac arrhythmias, etc.

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

• Set up and calibrate monitoring equipment. • Educate patients on sleep disorders, treatment options, and proper use of prescribed equipment.

• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and test results.

• Adhere to all regulatory guidelines, safety protocols, and ethical standards.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to adhere to flexible work schedules to ensure patient needs are met.

Minimum Education:

  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology -or- Successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least two years of Polysomnographic Technologist experience including scoring adult and pediatric Polysomnograms.

License/Certification:

  • Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential

• BLS certification

• RPSGT, NJ State Polysomnographic Technologist license
