Manages day to day activities to support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Trinity Health Philanthropy's donor database management system (DBMS). Responsible for application implementation, database conversions, systems interfaces, data standardization, data governance, data integration, data reporting and security standards. Supports e-campaigns and communications through DBMS internet solutions tools.

Manages day to day activities to support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Trinity Health Philanthropy's donor database management system (DBMS). Responsible for maintaining a Role Based Security Access Management Plan for all Trinity Health and Regional Health Ministry (RHM) colleagues to ensure proper use of confidential donor/patient protected health information (PHI) and personal identifying information (PII) stored and available within the DBMS.
Maintains an understanding of all RHM end-user roles to ensure training provides a good foundation for colleagues to utilize the various functionality and capabilities available within the DBMS to maximize efficiency and promote philanthropy industry best practices. Develops and provides training materials and Job Aids to support all end-users’ proper utilization and optimization of the DBMS and facilitates and or directs individual and group training sessions across the system.
Stays abreast of emerging technologies, platforms, tools and resources in Donor Data Management/Fund Development and identifies innovative solutions to advance data-driven fundraising solutions for Trinity Health Philanthropy.
Leads the development and implementation of DBMS upgrades, enhancements, configuration/build, testing and training.
Interfaces regularly with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other tech solution providers/vendors to address outstanding performance and or billing issues. Monitors charges and assists in vendor payment process and contract negotiations for services provided.
Supports all RHMs, as well as System Office team colleagues, in creating queries and reports from the DBMS to meet various donor data needs in furtherance of fundraising activities and prospect research and management.
Seeks to understand and gain knowledge of core Trinity Health and RHM Fund Development programs to include Annual Giving, Major Giving, Planned Giving, and Grateful Patient programs and works to ensure optimization of the DBMS in support of these activities.
Adopts and communicates standards for the dissemination and appropriate and legal use of Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personal Identification Information (PII) across the system, in accordance with Trinity Health’s policies and HIPAA, and in furtherance of Trinity Health’s fundraising strategy and efforts.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, or related field.
At least five (5) years of experience working in database management or administration, preferably in fundraising in Healthcare or Higher Education. Knowledge of and/or proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and or Blackbaud CRM is preferred.
Strong managerial skills with proven ability to manage day to day operations and motivate people and teams.
Excellent communication skills and ability to produce strong written and oral presentations and training materials to colleagues at various levels including c-suite and leadership.
Proficiency with Microsoft Product Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.
Working knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and Structured Query Language (SQL) to retrieve and manipulate data.
Proficiency in scripting languages for automating database management tasks and experience scheduling and managing batch processing jobs.
Familiarity with cloud database solutions.
Experience in migrating databases between platforms or DBMS versions.
Experience creating and managing database schemas, including defining tables, relationships, and constraints.
Understanding of roles, permissions, and authentication mechanisms related to database security and knowledge of implementing disaster recovery plans, database backups, and restoration processes.
Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and solving database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies.
Strong project management skills with the ability to facilitate and support project work plans at the detailed task level, including application design/build, testing, implementation, change management, training, and support processes. 14.
