Description:
Nurse Manager opportunity with Trinity Health Livonia a Level 2 Trauma Hospital, leading the sixteen-bed medical and surgical ICU.
Seeking a Registered Nurse with management experience and ICU / Critical Care experience.
The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment.
POSITION PURPOSE
Serves as a member of the organization’s nursing leadership team. Responsible for day-to-day operations, scheduling, staffing and providing 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services of one or more clinical areas.
Participates in and supports strategic development and outcomes management of nursing clinical areas.
Responsible for review and evaluation of operations and services in accordance with business requirements, marketplace trends and technological needs.
Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating safe, superior and preeminent quality patient care to ensure the advancement of clinical practice and patient care for a nursing unit that is consistent with the ANA Scope of Practice, American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) Nurse Leader/Manager competencies, and American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Standards.
Collaborates with and supports director and key leaders, groups and stakeholder audiences in the development and implementation of operational plans, goals and objectives .
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
State of Michigan Registered Nursing license required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree required. Master's Degree in Nursing, Business or Health Administration preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years clinical nursing in an ICU / Critical Care
Requires demonstrable leadership experience at the unit level
Knowledge of professional nursing practice in a clinical specialty evidenced through professional practice/administrative certification. Magnet approved certification preferred within 24 months of hire.
