Aerotek Line Mechanic in Lockport, New York

Description:

• Performs all setup functions from tooling to making “fine tuning” adjustments to have the line ready to run efficiently when the Operator is available at the

start of the shift/lot run. All production must comply with quality requirements as specified by each job.

• Able to read templates, blueprints, and production manuals and setup/adjust according to documented specifications and be able to build and maintain

specification.

• Maintains and repairs all plant machinery and equipment such as bag forming machines, support equipment, and testing equipment.

• Installs equipment and machinery as required.

• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems.

• Follows company policies on quality, safety and sanitation.

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations (AIB, SQF, GMP, Quality Control, Sanitation, etc.). Also,

Maintains equipment in compliance with National Electric Code (NEC) and Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) rules and regulations.

• Ensures that there are no tools are spare parts lying around production equipment (when producing food contact packaging products).

• Assures tools are in good repair and clean.

• Ensures that the maintenance room is clean and orderly.

• Understands specifications and can perform Quality tests to validate the integrity of the setup and the continued running of the line.

• Set up and test equipment to ensure that it functions properly. In addition, operate equipment to demonstrate proper use and to analyze malfunctions

• Use team resources and his/her process expertise and technical competences to provide assistance to/and reporting to the Foreman/Electro-Mechanical

• Takes pride and ownership in his/her own work, the facility and the team by modeling team behaviors. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related

results as needed.

• Reference appropriate documents when required such as MSDS documents, system level SOPs, company policies and Policy Manual, and AIB documents.

• Uses SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts to determine when processes are shifting and adjustments need to be made on machines.

• Responsible for improving job performance through working with the Foreman/Electro-Mechanical Technician to identify skills improvement opportunities, and

, plan/coordinate internal/external training efforts. Also, trains, mentors, and oversees the Operators & other line personnel.

• Carry radios at all times during working hours.

• Remove scrap gaylords and replace them as needed.

• Remove finished goods as necessary.
