About the role:

This role will support month end close and other accounting related duties for some of the most important sites in BC and represents a greenfield capacity build-up for the current organization in Lodz. Through proper accounting and timely support, the role will ensure efficient, harmonized and high quality accounting and reporting across multiple plants, maintaining a high standard. They will ideate, launch and drive steer initiatives aimed at improving and simplifying processes, sharing best practices, knowledge and continuous improvement of analytics as well as accounting processes. This position is a nucleus for the build-up of a wider team down the line and will provide great development potential in the future, once additional responsibilities are moved from the local plant business partners to the GBS.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the monthly closing process at plant/regional level in close coordination with local BP and factory management, supporting the preparation of the close and performing day-by-day closing activities

  • Support the plant BP in the following tasks: period end close, accruals, inventory records and controls, interactions with FP&A, basic analysis and reporting, issue solving, engagement with auditors, with the possibility of more varied tasks down the line

  • Consolidate data across multiple plants within your plant cluster

  • Perform some analysis on plant data, such as headcount or energy analysis, ensuring data used for accruals and other reporting purposes is accurate and plausible

  • Identify, trigger and implement process improvements and simplifications, aiming at reducing manual effort across the entire close process, both as performed in the plant by the local business partner and from the supporting accountants in GBS, for your cluster and, at a later stage, for the global close process in all plants

  • Support cash and investment process for plants, from launching investment proposals to global support

  • Participate in cross-functional teams accountable for developing the yearly budgets and forecasts

  • Other special projects include working to build, communicate, continuously improve and monitor new processes, with the opportunity to shape the global process and to set the standard for the group

  • This position will need to build and maintain relationships with functional disciplines outside of Finance

About you:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Proficiency in English, both written and oral. Additional European languages appreciated but not required

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting with some experience in FP&A related tasks

  • Prior experience in plant / factory controlling or accounting mandatory

  • Some experience of speaking to senior management desirable / willingness to learn and develop

  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools

  • Good operational knowledge of MS Office software with advanced Excel skills (Tables, Pivot Tables, lookups variants)

  • Documented proficiency with SAP and Business Warehouse

  • Interest in process optimization and improvement, with a willingness to think outside the box and challenge the process status quo while performing the daily work
