Open Position: Manufacturing Cost Specialist

Reports To: Quote Manager

On-site Work Location: North Logan, UT

At Spartronics, the Manufacturing Cost Specialist coordinates, directs, and leads cost and quoting efforts to ensure optimum costing and coordination of projects and programs to make sure Spartronics meets customer expectations and manufacturing requirements. This includes reviewing, pricing, and analyzing manufacturing costs, lead times, and performance.

 

What a Day Looks Like:

  • Determine total production process input for labor quotes
  • Develop cost element structures to capture all areas of costs
  • Develop manufacturing cost estimating relationships
  • Execute performance monitoring and provide analysis
  • Provide financial reporting and trending data
  • Work with engineering groups to develop and/or revise manufacturing processes, procedure, work instructions

Key Metrics:

  • Labor quoting accuracy
  • Quoting on time delivery
  • Cost quoting turn time

Requirements:

Education/License/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics or other related engineering field (preferred)
  • 1 -- 2 years' experience in cost engineering, cost estimating
  • 2 -- 4 years' experience in engineering field preferably manufacturing or electrical (preferred)
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs
  • Functional knowledge of accounting, financial accounting (preferred)

  • This position reports to work onsite - this is not a remote or hybrid position. Must be within driving distance of our manufacturing facility to work Monday-Friday.

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Working knowledge of engineering practices/procedures r egarding electronic components
  • Follow standard practices/procedures to develop solutions for simple engineering issues
  • Able to prioritize work, multitask and think analytically
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to create, develop, and test new procedures and workflows
  • Good conflict resolution
