Key responsibilities

Development of advanced modelling tools (incl. proposals for specifications) for kinetic simulation of constant velocity joints (CVJs), driveshaft systems and drivetrain components.

• Validation of virtual model and test by on site physical test.

• Continuous improvement, maintenance, and user support for modelling tool landscape (incl. statistical tools, DoE etc.).

• Kinetic model building and execution of modelling work requests, parameter & sensitivity studies incl. design optimization.

• Contribute to CAE feasibility studies with a focus on kinetic modelling.

• Fully integrated role within Advanced Engineering product developments for GKN Driveline.

• Team member within the Driveline modelling & analysis group, the global GKN Automotive CAE expert network and a cross functional team member for other global Driveline related programs as essential function within the product development process

• Problem solving support for application engineering.

• Initiate and drive innovation for Driveline products & methods.

• Comply with relevant GKN Standards and processes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• MSc Degree in mathematics, Techno-Mathematician or comparable.

• Excellent skills in mathematics, abstract thinking abilities, ability to read and create algorithms (essential).

• Fundamental understanding of technical mechanics, ideally CVJ kinetics / kinematics.

• Experience with kinetic modelling software MSC-Adams (Multibody Dynamics) or any other MSC or Altair product beneficial.

• Experience with dedicated GKN modelling tool KoJaC beneficial.

• Solid programming skills in VBA, Fortran, and Python and long-term experience with various compilers beneficial.

• Experience with version management.

• Autonomous working style.

• Excellent problem-solving mindset.

• Full professional proficiency in English and German language.
