Summary This position functions as the My HealtheVet Program Support Assistant in the Health Informatics and Connected Care Service at the Loma Linda VA Healthcare system (VHALOM). The incumbent reports to the Facility Telehealth Coordinator of the Service. The purpose of this position is to provide timely and effective communication with Veterans. VA's Online Personal Health Record, My HealtheVet (MHV) and Secure Messaging can be utilized to communicate with Veterans in a timely and relevant manner. Responsibilities THIS IS A TERM POSITION NOT TO EXCEED SEPTEMBER 30, 2026. Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Provides general clerical as well as technical assistance to the My HealtheVet Coordinator by maintaining MHV System, Secure Messaging Program, and electronic and/or virtual assistance equipment. Serves as the back-up to the My HealtheVet Coordinator and will be responsible for attending all committee meetings, trainings, and outreach events. Establishes develops and implements, at the request or in conjunction with the My HealtheVet Coordinator, local My HealtheVet-related goals, strategies to meet goals, identified responsible development of reports status/progress to medical center management. Assists in establishing and managing communications plans that identify target audience's appropriate messages, activities, and resources needed for effective communication, and effective communications plan for change management, incorporate multiple channels to manage expectations and disseminate project progress. Provides oversight for a variety of software programs integral to the overall administration and operations of the Health Informatics and Connected Care Service. Assists with the preparation and implementation of business contingency plans for My HealtheVet system failures specifically addressing manual system backup plans and how day to day business will be conducted. Provides IT user support through training and troubleshooting problems; equipment support including maintaining the inventory, requesting repair and maintenance, and requesting new equipment. Provides training support which includes developing and monitoring the Service's training plan; tracking employee training; participating in the development and delivery of in-service training; and performs office support duties which include preparing reports; preparing graphics for presentations and ensuing that labor and equipment cost are properly assigned. Assists the My HealtheVet Coordinator to lead the facility's efforts to integrate My HealtheVet and Secure Messaging among healthcare provider and patients. Assists the My HealtheVet Coordinator in developing presentations to all levels of VAMC/HCS, service organizations, and Veterans, family members and caregivers. Assists in the development of multimedia campaign materials (e.g., printed articles, brochures, videos) to enlighten target population. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: duties performed include defining the target groups, analyzing the information required and the most appropriate format and means of dissemination. Decisions regarding what needs to be done depend upon analysis of the project, its purpose, the most appropriate groups to communicate with, their characteristics, the most effective communication methods and techniques, and ways of evaluating the impact of disseminated information. Projects require the application of standard communications techniques requiring the solution of problems or resolution is issues like those previously encountered with slight modification or strategies to accommodate new aspects of an issue. Keeps abreast of the latest information on advertising and marketing by reading literature and attending workshops.
