Amazon Data Center Infrastructure Partner Manager, Infrastructure Partner Management in London, United Kingdom

The AWS Infrastructure Partner Management (IPM) team performs a partner performance management function for Colocation (colo) Data Center partners for delivery of AWS Cloud services. The team manages colo partner performance through a formal business review program for which colo partners are measured on operational performance, contractual compliance, infrastructure reliability, and business relationship. The business review program is a key business control function that is required to satisfy AWS System and Operational Controls (SOC) compliance. As Infrastructure Partner Manager you serve as an escalation point for both our internal teams and external partners. In addition, you will also manage the follow up on service level breaches and coordinate infrastructure risk reduction projects. You will keep a holistic view of the partner relationship and performance, while working cross-organizational with other teams in AWS to deliver service level improvements and scaling initiatives. You will do this by leveraging the commercial and contractual relationships already in place with our colo partners. A key part of your role is to also support and empower internal customers including Operations, Security, Safety Engineering, Construction Project Manager, Business Developers, and other key stakeholders, to drive continuous improvements in order to secure a robust customer experience for AWS’ customers.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead cross-organizational business reviews with colocation partners

• Secure proper onboarding of new sites and colocation partners

• Coordinate partner negotiations for development and implementation of solutions for infrastructure risk reduction and mitigation

• Identify and drive improvement initiatives to increase service performance

• Manage the commercial and operational relationships with colocation partners

• Empower internal teams including Operations, Safety, Security and Engineering, by facilitating issue resolution and performance improvement efforts

• Facilitate partner initiatives and process improvements that deliver better experiences for our customers

• Act as a subject matter expert on AWS’s commercial relationship with colocation partners and on partners’ overall service performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven track record effectively managing external relationships (eg: sales, customer service management, vendor management, procurement, etc)

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders to deliver results

  • Proven track record managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously from inception through completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience managing external vendor or customer relationships - Data center, telecommunications, or mission critical infrastructure domain experience

  • Experience in management of complex technology infrastructure projects. Experience with and deep understanding of multiple project management methodologies. Familiarity with the AWS product suite. Master’s Degree or advanced professional degree.

  • Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes. Exceptional analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentation skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel 20-40% of your time
