This is a Hybrid position located in Barcelona, Spain*
We are seeking a Director of Software Development Engineering to lead our new Amex GBT Neo Hotel Engineering team. Neo represents an outstanding differentiator for Amex GBT Travel & Expense customers by offering an incredible level of configurability jointly with a best-in-class user experience for our business travelers. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Drive a multi-year technology roadmap/program
Collaborate with product managers to manage prioritization of items in product backlog for ongoing sprints; being responsible for working with global stakeholders to define user stories and requirements for Hotel initiatives, interpreting the requestor’s needs and driving the development approach
Lead team on implementing new ideas or approaches by securing the necessary resources or support from senior management
Partner with Engineering leaders across AmexGBT to solve problems
Measure and mitigate risks that may arise during the implementation and development phases
Coach and promote creation of high quality, clearly documented, and compliant deliverables
Foster career growth and a strong team culture of inclusivity, product ownership and quality, technical and operational excellence; lead by example.
WHO YOU ARE:
Bachelor's / Master’s in Computer Science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
10+ years of developing enterprise web applications in .NET
5+ years of Engineering Management experience
Strong experience in front-end web technologies
Proven collaboration skills along with the ability to influence without authority
Experience in working with leadership across multiple Product and Engineering areas
Strong written, verbal communications, presentation skills, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills
Experience handling geographically diverse and/or partner teams
Travel domain knowledge is a plus
French written and speaking skills are a plus
