What's the role about?

An exciting opportunity has become available within our Technical Team for a talented Garment Technologist to lead our Girlswear department. Working closely with our buying and design teams to ensure consistent fit and quality across our Girlswear range.

Who you are

  • Previous experience operating as Girlswear and Babywear Garment Technologist is essential.

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of garment construction and pattern cutting.

  • Experience leading fit sessions, recording and sending fit samples comments.

  • In depth understanding of grading to ensure fit consistency of styles for bulk production.

  • Experience reviewing and approving testing reports. Analysing test reports and carrying out appropriate wearer trials.

  • Experience reading and approving fabric/mill reports.

  • Knowledge of Kidswear CPC and legal compliance.

  • Passionate and assertive attitude with clear communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion or Textiles.

  • Well organized, able to work to tight deadlines, assertive when communicating technical requirements.

  • Experience with 3D fitting is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, specifically Excel.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage Girls & Babywear department.

  • Controlling and maintaining a consistent fit from proto to bulk production sign off.

  • Build good relationships with our suppliers, ensuring offshore production and QC teams work to our quality and standard.

  • Reviewing and approving testing reports and fabric/mill reports. Liasing with supplier to confirm wash care and ensure all legal compliance is met.

  • Liasing with our suppliers to relay technical queries and fitting details.

  • Ensuring critical path is managed with regards to fitting, sealing and production of garments.

  • Leading critical path meeting

  • Responsible for management and organization of all Kidswear samples.

  • Responsible for preparation for Kidswear fit sessions. Keeping track of any samples due in. Collecting samples from post room, steaming, and measuring all fit samples in preparation for fits.

  • Responsible for managing Kidswear fit list.

  • Responsible for fitting and completing fit comments for pre-shipment samples.

  • Collaborate with buying to manage the critical path for Girlswear. Chasing samples and keeping PLM up to date with fit status' dates and style approval deadlines.

  • Liaise with the warehouse on any QC issues with production.
