SAIC Mission Protection Systems Engineer in LONDON, United Kingdom

DESCRIPTION: SAIC has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on Continuity of Operations (COOP) and protection of mission systems in the United Kingdom . Relocation assistance may be provided as well as housing stipend, cost of living, and other allowances for the duration of the tour. The successful candidate will:

§ Directly contribute to government’s mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership and proactive action on COOP and mission protection activities.

§ Support the development, periodic exercises, assessment, training and improvement of the site COOP plan and contingency checklists.

§ Coordinate and support with internal and external entities for activities associated with site and mission inspections and report findings and recommendations.

§ Coordinate and support assessment of mission essential functions.

§ Support Weapons and Tactics teams by assessing current and emerging threats, contributing to space protection doctrine, strategies, plans, architectures, and associated requirements; by providing vetted analysis and recommendations to improve space protection architectures and capabilities; and by developing threat mitigation tactics, techniques, and procedures. Train operations personnel on threat mitigation.

§ Monitor and evaluate war games and exercises (participate if requested) to capture and assess lessons learned for best practice implementation to further improve space protection efforts.

§ Define solutions for broad, abstract topics; succinctly captures risk and issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendations.

§ Review documentation, represent government as required in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

§ Must be a US Citizen.

§ Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.

§ Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years or more relevant experience.

§ Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics

· In-depth knowledge of satellite operations and satellite components (bus and payload) and associated ground systems and related mission protection topics.

§ Thorough knowledge of orbital mechanics - analyze and readily articulate pros/cons of orbital changes. Understand and applies RF principles.

§ Self-starter, reputation for successfully anticipating and proactively addressing customer requirements with no supervision and ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.

§ Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment-master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

§ Superior data management/data visualization skills and use of appropriate tools.

§ Ability to work independently and with a team, operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates.

Desired:

§ Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operator

§ Successful record of project management experience with delivered systems

§ Familiar with Digital Engineering/MBSE, AGILE development, cloud technologies

§ Experience with Jira, Confluence, Systems Tool Kit (STK)
