About The Job

An opportunity has arisen for a Commis Chef to join the Pastry in Jumeirah Carlton Tower.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Work as a team, be courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible and perform routine duties as per below:

  • Gathers, measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces, and seasoning

  • Wash, peel, and chop vegetables, fruits, and meat etc. as applicable

  • Knowledge of cutting and seasoning different meats as and marination

  • Prepare basic dishes such as salads and sauces

  • Ensure that the food items are stocked properly in refrigerators and freezers

  • Follow established recipe and plating guide provided, to exact specification

  • Set-up the station with par stocks of menu items and carry out all food preparation tasks given by the Demi Chef /Chef De Partie designated for that station

  • Effectively able to maintain high levels of kitchen assistance service at all times. Keep a track of the inventory supplies.

  • Continually develops culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals n, storage of all items used within the respective kitchen and ensure all areas of section are maintained and cleaned following established standards

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School.

  • Expert in food quality and presentation skills

  • Adaptability and appreciation of cultural diversity

  • Team Player with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Reliable and Sincere showing high level of energy

  • Proficient in English (Read/Write/Speak – Essential)
