Bentley Systems Senior Sales Manager in London, United Kingdom
Location: UK (Office-Based, Hybrid, or Home-Based)
Position Summary:
As the Senior Sales Manager for the UKIME Energy & Utilities sector, you will be responsible for setting sector strategy and, over time, developing a team capable of securing work in the market to meet and exceed targets.
To be successful in this role, you will be persuasive, have strong business acumen, be adept at negotiating sound business deals, and demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
You will create a multi-channel approach and ensure that the business targets are met in a reliable, resilient, and sustainable way. A target of achieving a three-times factored sector pipeline will be maintained at all times with work of suitable quality.
The role will require a highly adaptive person who can work remotely and at Cohesive/client offices as required to meet the needs of Cohesive assignments. This role will also require travel up to 50% in EMEA.
Your Day-to-Day:
Leadership
Lead the development and implementation of short and long-range plans to meet financial, profitability, and growth targets
Lead and inspire the Energy & Utility Business Development team
Create an environment where the team is motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard
Develop a team to meet the needs of the Cohesive business and provide ongoing development to grow their capability
Strategy and Planning
Establish and maintain a coherent marketing and business strategy across the Energy sector
Establish and maintain a system including CRM, to monitor and report on the success of these strategies
Develop existing and emerging markets
Establish the Cohesive Value proposition for the Energy Sector in UKIME by working with and across the organization to establish a clear vision of the go-to-market strategy
Research emerging trends and competitive landscape and ensure that the value proposition remains relevant to market/client needs
With the Sales Director for UKIME, set sales goals, compare performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed
Support forecast methodology and discipline through ongoing cadence individually and with the team
Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasts
Establish multiple channels e.g., direct, and digital, to maintain resilience
Establish/enhance supplier-led channels including BSY and IBM
Marketing and Communications
Create a clear market demand and service offering that meets customer demand
Promote the Cohesive brand that is synonymous with quality, reliability, and value
Build successful networking relationships with key industry bodies to identify future opportunities
Develop marketing collateral e.g., case studies and testimonials, which can be shared internally and externally to promote Cohesive
Partner and Account Management
Develop and manage existing strategic partnerships to grow business
Incubate and develop reference accounts
Support partnership and account-level escalations with account managers and delivery teams
What You Bring to The Team:
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field, and/or equivalent work experience
Desirable : Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field
Knowledge/Skills
Proven business development and sales experience
Broad-based industry/sector experience, which must include experience within one or more of Energy & Utilities, construction, asset management, IT/digital
Proven track record of building relationships at the CXO level, with a strong network of client and sector-based contacts
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Positive, motivational, and inspiring
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
Strong business acumen and commercials skills
Deep understanding of end-to-end operational and system requirements to ensure revenue recognition and ability to communicate objectives to the BD and Sales team
Desirable
Understanding of SOX compliance and revenue implications of quote to cash process
