AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the global account team on strategic customer opportunities.

  • Consulting with various business units within the customer on how to best leverage the AWS platform to transform their business.

  • Help design software architecture for the customer’s products using cloud services and building on top of AWS

  • Support the customer’s internal and external use of the AWS platform by working on technology concepts & strategies, together with product and technical leads at the customer.

  • Work with the customer’s technical leadership to help shape their cloud strategy.

  • Share your learnings with the larger AWS community

A day in the life

As a Solutions Architect within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's web services (Amazon compute, Amazon Machine Learning services, Database services and many more) across multiple lines of business and product teams in the North American subsidiaries of this Fortune 500.

For this role, we are looking for folks who have technical breadth complimented by technical depth in one or two core areas, business aptitude, and the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions while articulating the business value of the AWS platform. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for engaging with Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, Cloud Architects, Directors, VP’s and CXOs. The ideal candidate should also have demonstrated the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in customer facing technology presales or delivery scenarios.

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluent in French

  • Significant experience working in a technology evangelist, developer relation, or technical executive role

  • Strong knowledge and experience with cloud computing infrastructure, application development platforms and popular programming languages

  • The ability to work cooperatively with, and gain the respect of, software developers is a must

  • Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills

  • Willingness to travel and ability to work autonomously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience architecting, operating cloud-based solutions. AWS SA Professional Certification preferred.

  • Significant experience in IT Infrastructure and/or software development, with special emphasis in areas of Compute, Storage, Databases, Networking, Application Services, Machine Learning, Big Data and/ or distributed computing

  • Practical experience in cloud computing architecture work, systems or application design, development or operations.

  • Past experience on Cloud Computing platforms is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of AWS platform

  • Working knowledge and experience with social / online marketing coupled with prior experience in product definition, bring-to-market strategies and/ or setting an industry standard

  • A history of successful speaking engagements, industry influence is preferred Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
