As part of our ongoing expansion, Amazon Private Brands Global Sourcing is looking for a Senior Sourcing Manager to join our European team.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to work with our growing European supplier base producing for our global Private Brands business. You will be diving deep into data and researching industry trends to identify new suppliers in Europe which we can partner with. You will also be managing our existing European suppliers, owning the sourcing process, negotiating costs and collaborating with our worldwide teams to bring products to market. The role involves uncovering defects and process improvement opportunities, along with designing and implementing long-term solutions in collaboration with product, quality, operations, transportation, and customer service teams. In this role, you will have autonomy to drive the business forward, owning supplier relationships and aspects of product development.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a highly collaborative, creative, and fast-paced environment. The sourcing manager in this role must be analytical and able to break down complex problems into simple solutions, and have strong will to get things done and deliver results no matter the obstacles. Data analytical skills (using SQL) and project management experience are both pluses.

The ideal candidate is also comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment. Finally, the candidate must also be a strong communicator and influencer, with the ability to communicate concisely and effectively with multiple stakeholders to drive change.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Identification and development of relationships with key suppliers and supply chain partners. Building our European supplier strategy and driving this forward with our international teams.

  2. Build a KPI-based strategic supplier management framework to strengthen and expand collaboration with partners that meet our high quality standards and add value to our brands.

  3. Utilize alternative sourcing approaches such as resourcing (shifting supply from one factory to another) to more effectively manage and leverage existing supplier base.

  4. Understand global supply chains, sourcing industry and profit drivers

  5. Partner with Global Product Development Managers, Quality and Supply Chain teams to develop sourcing strategy across multiple categories and launch products globally.

  6. Identify defects and develop scalable processes/tech solutions to address and accelerate our Private Label business.

  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools and productivity.

  8. Build new innovations to unlock new opportunities or increase efficiencies across the business and across Amazon.

A day in the life

You will manage our European supplier base for a range of product categories. This involves factory research, supplier onboarding and management of existing supplier relationships including cost negotiations and product ordering.

You will own initiatives that enable our business to scale and drive product roadmap alignment across teams such as PM, Sourcing, Quality, Program and Compliance.

You will build long-term strategy for growing the business in Europe and drive global expansion of our supplier base and production capabilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

  • Experience owning technology products

  • Experience with product cycles of 6+ months

  • Experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
