Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Center Services is seeking a Sustainability Reporting and Regulatory Lead, reporting to the Energy and Sustainability Director within the Data Center Sourcing and Energy team. As a sustainability leader within DCS, you will have day-to-day responsibility for shaping and driving Oracle Cloud’s approach to sustainability and ESG reporting and preparing for regulatory requirements that pertain to the OCI cloud platform. As part of Oracle, we have a goal to reach 100% renewable energy, halve our global operational emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. Sustainability and regulatory alignment are growing in focus across our business and this role will provide critical expertise and execution across Oracle Cloud data centers.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of Oracle Cloud’s data center sustainability ESG reporting and regulatory compliance strategy across global markets – North and South America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific, with significant focus on Europe.

  • Create and manage requirements around sustainability including leveraging expertise of voluntary and compliance frameworks, energy forecasting, carbon accounting, customer and supplier engagement, and collection and preparation of high-quality data.

  • Design ESG and sustainability governance processes within OCI and recommend improvements in metrics and reporting.

  • Lead efforts to integrate and standardize OCI data center sustainability data into corporate systems and tools.

  • Monitor and assess evolving regulatory requirements, translate into DCS and broader OCI requirements, communicating cross-functionally.

  • Lead workstreams to ensure OCI’s compliance and support various audit and reporting activities.

  • Provide expertise on improving and executing OCI’s annual greenhouse gas inventory.

  • Support cross-functional engagement on assessing and reporting on material ESG and sustainability topics.

  • Develop and manage relationships across Oracle including with DCS, Supply Chain Operations, ESG controllers office, Legal, etc.

  • Prepare executive talking points, white papers and presentations for executives on sustainability strategy and progress.

  • Input into external reporting including website content, carbon dashboards etc.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years professional experience; 5-7+ years managing sustainability or ESG within a large matrix environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, STEM or business with technical expertise on energy and data center topics

  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks: Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Science-based Targets, SASB, TCFD, CDP, Greenhouse Gas Protocol

  • Familiarity with compliance requirements and pending requirements: U.S. SEC Climate Risk Disclosure, EU CSRD, EU Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, EU Climate-Neutral Data Centre Operator Pact, Germany Energy Efficiency Directive (EED).

  • Experience leading cross-functional annual sustainability and ESG reporting requirements including greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories

  • Understanding of greenhouse gas inventory best practices including use of renewable energy market instruments to make carbon reduction claims

  • Advanced Excel expertise building financial models and analyzing energy and carbon emissions

  • Articulate, executive presence, comfort with negotiations and supplier engagement

  • Ability to support EMEA time zone on an ongoing basis

  • Ability to support global time zones as needed

  • Ability to travel occasionally including internationally

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Data center sustainability expertise developing and executing sustainability and ESG plans cross-functionally

  • Metrics/OKR design, complex project management experience

  • 1-2+ years people management experience
