Description

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

The mission of the Corporate Infrastructure Team is to deliver robust, highly available, and easy to use services to our internal customers across the global enterprise. A successful Support Engineer on our team will be customer focused and motivated by both individual and team successes. They will be innovative, energetic, and able to adapt to new processes and procedures quickly while handling a high volume of requests and ambiguity. They will have a keen eye for recognizing inefficiency and show strong initiative to simplify processes for their customers. They will be committed, flexible, and have demonstrated the ability to maintain high levels of productivity with minimal supervision.

Key job responsibilities

  • Providing front line Windows desktop support to customers

  • Managing and maintaining Windows server and desktop infrastructure

  • Troubleshooting technical issues and escalating when necessary

  • In office IT hardware maintenance

  • Participating in on-call rotations

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience scripting in modern program languages

  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems

  • Experience in technical support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development

  • Experience troubleshooting & maintaining hardware & software RAID

  • Experience with REST web services, XML, JSON
