Element Consulting Senior Project Manager - K-12 Construction Program in Long Beach, California

Position Overview:

As the Senior Project Manager for a Bond Construction Program at a school district, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, development, and execution of a comprehensive portfolio of construction projects funded by our recent bond initiative. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and revitalization of our campus, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Bond Construction Program, including the identification, prioritization, and implementation of construction projects.

  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring efficient allocation of funds and adherence to programmatic goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to define project scope, specifications, and deliverables, and oversee all aspects of project planning and execution.

  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures as necessary to maintain project timelines and quality standards.

  • Manage the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services, including bid solicitation, contract negotiation, and vendor selection, to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of project components.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations throughout all phases of construction projects.

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members, campus administrators, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders, providing regular updates and soliciting feedback to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to project team members, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing large-scale SCHOOL construction projects, K-12.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, delivery methods, DSA, and best practices in project management. 

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6, Procore, or Microsoft Project.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate diverse teams.

  • Experience managing bond-funded construction programs in an educational or institutional setting is highly desirable.

  • Professional certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or LEED Accredited Professional, are a plus.

    Salary dependent on Education and Experience.  Salary range: $155K - $200K
