Town of Longmeadow MA Food Pantry Coordinator in Longmeadow, Massachusetts

Food Pantry Coordinator The Town of Longmeadow, MA is seeking qualified applicants for a Part Time Food Pantry Coordinator position for the Adult Center; reports to the Director of Adult Services. 15 hours per week as needed. Monday thru Friday with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities. The Food Pantry Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of the Food Pantry Program, working closely with the Adult Center Director and the Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator. Tasks include pickup, receipt, storage and distribution of food to community members in need. Trains and manages volunteers to ensure client needs are met through the program. Embraces our core value to serve those in need with kindness and compassion. Responsibilities include: Oversee all aspects of operations, consistent with our mission, values, and expectations. Supervisor of food distributions, donations and deliveries. Order food and maintain appropriate inventory. Coordinate community food drives and work directly with community organizations. Ensure food is sorted and stored in a safe and sanitary manner, with all safety and security procedures being followed. Coordinate an efficient flow of service, including food delivery and Food Pantry cleanliness. Collaborate with the Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator for recruitment of volunteers. Train, schedule and supervise volunteers throughout all aspects of the Food Pantry process to include sorting, bagging and distribution. Enroll participants and enters food distribution data into the Western Massachusetts Food Bank system. Collect and report data through the use of weekly reports to the Director of Adult Services. Implement Food Pantry safety policies and procedures as enforced by the Western Massachusetts Food Bank, Massachusetts Department of Agriculture and USDA. Report maintenance needs to Assistant Director of Adult Services. Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities. Perform other related duties as assigned A candidate for this position should have a High School Diploma or equivalent with training in office procedures and computers. Previous experience in Food Pantry operations, program coordination and public outreach preferred. Previous experience communicating with community partners preferred. Valid Driver\'s License. CORI check required.
