ManpowerGroup Engineering Technician in Longmont, Colorado

Manpower is in partnership with an electronics manufacturing company in Longmont, CO. We are seeking an experienced Test Technician to join the team.

  • Pay Rate: $22-$27/hr based on experience

  • 1st Shift 7:00am until 3:30pm Monday-Friday.

Description

Perform implementation duties related to new product introduction and process support activities. Work to ensure the effective transfer of new products into production, as well as provide process support for current products. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production on continuous improvement programs, process improvements, and corrections within the factory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all ESD requirements and Board Handling procedures.

  • Use Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on component moisture sensitive levels (MSL).

  • Identify faulted components or manufacturing defects on production printed circuit boards (down to the component level) and submit for re-work.

  • Read, interpret, and react to schematics for the troubleshooting process.

  • Test production printed circuit boards, including functional and boundary scan tests.

  • Must have RF experience.

  • Run software backups, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on tester control computers; identify signs of viruses or excessive fragmentation and clean them when needed.

  • Support the production test operator training and certification program.

  • Support test engineering development projects as required.

  • Participate in test process and test station improvements, efficiencies, and safety.

  • Create test reports that accurately describe test results and any other findings observed during test and/or troubleshooting processes.

  • Interface with other cross-functional departments, and possibly customers.

  • Utilize and enter data to track yield/troubleshooting details with Clarity application for tested and debugged assemblies for all products.

  • Assist in the establishment of the manufacturing process in the factory and train operators on the requirements of the assembly process.

  • Generate Process Change Notices (“PCNs”) and process updates within the manufacturing process.

  • Analyze Material Rejection Reports (“MRRs”) and process materials, investigate root causes, and provide corrective actions for eliminating errors on future assembly builds.

  • Monitor and interpret manufacturing defect data and quality trends for assigned products or lines and troubleshoot down to the root cause.

  • Provide written and oral communication within the community and externally to its customers.

  • Coach and train manufacturing operators in the proper performance of assembly processes.

  • Support and follow all ISO standards related to various Quality Management Systems. These systems may include but are not limited to quality, the environment, health, safety, and security.

  • Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications/ Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to utilize electronic manufacturing system.

  • Knowledge of CCA manufacturing methods and procedures.

  • Ability to execute detailed instructions and procedures.

  • Ability to interface with all departments and customers.

  • Important to be a multi-tasking individual who is organized, creative, and a motivated team player.

  • Able to work unsupervised and be a professional representative for the Engineering Department.

  • Knowledge in SMT pick and place troubleshooting is a plus.

  • Knowledge in SMT thermal profiling is a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience in AOI programming is a plus.

  • Pass IPC-DVD-64C Component Identification.

  • Pass IPC-A-610 Modules 1 & 2.

  • Participate in Quality Improvement Team (QIT), Customer Focus Team (CFT), and ECO meetings.

  • Ability to manage and flex competing priorities to meet deadlines.

Experience/Education:

  • Electronics related Associate's degree required.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in electronics manufacturing or testing.

  • Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen.

  • AS in engineering or equivalent industry experience.

  • 3+ years in Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite).

  • Basic mechanical drawing.

  • Ability to interpret specifications.

  • Working knowledge of industry standards: IPC-610, ESD, ISO 9002, and all other applicable ISO standards.
