Overview
The Manufacturing Learning Services Manager is responsible for setting high-level workforce development and training goals, ensuring team performance, aligning with customer needs, and managing departmental tasks. This position plays a crucial role in team development while also contributing to maintaining and improving operational standards within the organization.
Responsibilities
Gain alignment with senior leadership to develop onboarding plans for new leaders and technical roles
Conduct thorough assessments to identify training needs and skill gaps within the manufacturing workforce and provide training solutions
Implement necessary systems to organize training records, materials and standards
Lead efforts for Learning Management System (LMS) to track and record training activities and proficiencies for departments and maintain accurate reporting
Collaborate with site and department leadership to ensure that training needs are being met
Represent the Longview site for corporate training initiatives and expectations
Responsible for leadership of a Learning Services support team of 30+ team members including coaches, support staff, and instructors
Lead Special Projects as need to support Eastman site and corporate needs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
7+ years of progressive experience developing and deploying training programs in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
3+ years leader experience required
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership
Ability to present and report information concisely
Ability lead meetings with effectiveness and confidence
Ability to work independently and manage projects and timelines
Understanding of change management principles
Proficiency in SuccessFactors (MyCareer) system a plus
Strong analytical skills for program, budget and cost center analysis
Proven experience motivating team members and influencing without authority
Understanding of adult learners and learning styles
