Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Los Angeles, California

Description

Robert Half is working closely with a client in the legal industry to help find an accounts payable clerk to support their operational accounting team. We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity based in Los Angeles, California. This role is based on site, 5 days per week during the contract period. This role involves managing invoices, assisting with distributions, contractor payments, and other vital tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and verify all incoming invoices, adhering to firm policies and procedures.

• Match invoices with the corresponding purchase orders and receipts, ensuring proper coding and allocation.

• Obtain necessary approvals for invoices and expense reports from the relevant departments and stakeholders.

• Perform data entry of invoice details into the accounting system with precision and efficiency.

• Prepare and process electronic payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.

• Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies or outstanding issues.

• Manage and maintain vendor relationships, resolving any payment-related matters.

• Review employee expense reports for compliance with firm policies and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is available.

• Assist in month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations.

• Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments.

• Assist in maintaining financial records, filing, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years' experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk preferably in the legal industry

• Proficiency in using Aderant software is preferred but not required.

• Demonstrated ability in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in coding invoices

• Strong understanding of legal industry standards and regulations in relation to accounts payable

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

• Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
