The Strategy & Programs team within the Business Excellence Operations organization for Industry Solutions is responsible for efficient and effective Human Capital Management, with an emphasis on our external Services supplier/partner ecosystem. Our goal is to enable our services delivery and sales groups to deliver customer centric outcomes. In alignment with the services stakeholders and geographic leadership, this team plays a crucial role in ensuring the right partner companies are onboarded, managed, and meet our financial and execution excellence expectations. In addition, the Strategy & Programs team does large deal negotiations to achieve the best value for our customers and stakeholders.

As an Account Partner Strategist, you will work with key stakeholders within a Time Zone to develop external staffing strategies for large accounts leveraging our GSI, Advisory and ISV Partners. You will also contribute to the success of the global team by leading or participating in critical cross team people, process, and tool initiatives.

Responsibilities

As part of the Strategy & Programs team, you will work with the cross partner team (xPT), sales, pursuit, and delivery teams to fulfill customer engagements. You will work across the operations and support teams, including, legal, contracting, compliance, and procurement to protect Microsoft and ensure operational excellence.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Paired with Account RMs to create external staffing strategies.

  • Drive partner usage strategy on deals.

  • Partner with Time Zone stakeholders to drive business with Strategic Partners.

  • Represent strategic partner usage in specific TZs and provide visibility for lower usage and driving strategic partner usage where we can.

  • Conduct pricing and ‘specialized skill’ rate negotiations.

  • Conduct external staffing risk assessments including cross border travel (CBT).

  • Track usage of strategic partners, subcontractor, and external contractors in support of Domain capacity plans and deal specific resource mix.

  • Leverage reporting created by the Modern Insights and Analytics team to drive actionable insights with the business.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should have 7 to 10 years of Partner Management / Procurement / Operations experience and should be self-motivated, confident working with Senior Leaders and comfortable working in a matrix, global organization. Candidate needs to be able to achieve results through influence across multiple organizations.

  • Bachelor’s in business management, information technology, or related field, and/or equivalent experience.

  • Proven stakeholder management skills, especially in a global, matrix organization.

  • A strong business aptitude coupled with an affinity or appreciation for technology and the advancement of technology in thriving organizations.

  • Extensive experience in a resource or delivery management role for an enterprise scale business.

  • Experience dealing with a range of internal stakeholders, from senior-level to technical staff.

  • Strategic expertise in defining and implementing large-scale global strategies dependent on partners.

  • Working closely with sales to drive business

  • Developing external staffing strategies utilizing third parties and overall human capital management including, hiring, and knowledge of immigration, local labor and tax laws

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate multiple work streams of activities.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial and operational functions of a delivery organization (i.e., budget, time keeping, optimizing cost, escalation processes, invoicing, capacity management).

  • An analytical mindset with the ability to define metrics, reports, interpret results, and make recommendations on appropriate courses of action.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, time management, presentation, and writing skills.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and team-oriented with a strong growth mindset and emotional intelligence.
