Description
A Hospital Central Business Office is in the need of a Medical Insurance Collections Specialist. The Medical Insurance Collections Specialist will be responsible for calling insurance companies to resolve unpaid and rejected claims. The Medical Collections Specialist must have 2+ years of experience in the healthcare industry. The right person must be able to work on at least 35 accounts per day.
Duties:
Follow up with insurance companies via phone and via web portal.
Must have experience with utilizing the UB04.
Reviews records for outstanding and unpaid claims to determine collection activities and processes.
Submits timely appeals and follows up on claims at various stages of collection process.
Responsible for identifying patterns and trends in claim denials and propose solutions for reducing denial rates.
Contacts payor sources to determine status of payments and to assure timely payments of claims.
Reviewing EOB's and capitated claims
Maintains records and prepares reports as requested in a timely manner.
Documents all collection efforts per company policies/procedures.
