Robert Half Compensation & Benefits Specialist in Los Angeles, California

Description

A food manufacturer, in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Benefits/HR Specialist. The position, requires you to be 100% onsite and will primarily focus on enhancing the company’s benefits programs and ensuring compliance with essential HR practices. The candidate will work directly under the Senior HR Leadership team and is expected to work on-site five days a week.

Key responsibilities include handling employment-related inquiries, keeping up with human resource trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies. They will also be responsible for administering employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing benefit enrollments accurately, leading the company's annual open enrollment process, coordinating with insurance providers, and maintaining accurate employee benefits records.

Furthermore, the HR Specialist will be tasked with improving non-compliant business areas, maintaining company records and policies, and investigating complaints of non-compliance, discrimination, and harassment. Additionally, the candidate is expected to collaborate with other HR team members on various projects and initiatives.

In terms of qualifications, the company is looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits and compliance administration or an HR role. A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is preferred. They must also display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical capabilities, a high attention to detail, and fluency in HRIS software like Workday, ADP, Bamboo HR. Proficiency in Kantola or a similar learning management system and bilingual ability in Spanish are preferred. Importantly, the candidate should possess absolute integrity and sensitivity in handling confidential company and employee information. They must be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and a resourceful problem solver.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Compensation & Benefits Specialist or in a similar role

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

• Proficient in Micrsoft Office Suite and HRIS software (e.g., Workday, ADP, Bamboo HR)

Knowledge of compliance requirements in Compensation & Benefits

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
