UCLA Health Front Office Admin (Limited Appointment) in Los Angeles, California
Description
The
Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Front
Office Admin to assist our Parenting and Children's Friendship Program. The
Program helps elementary school children who have trouble making or keeping
friends through skill building group sessions. Primary duties include:
Answering and directing central phone lines
Front desk duties (greetings, check-in, preparation of patient charts, etc.)
Patient scheduling and encounter registration
Verifying insurance benefits and record benefits for finance review
Obtaining patients authorizations for medications
Preparing agendas, taking minutes, transcribing, editing and distributing
Other administrative duties as assigned
Salary range: $24.57/hr - $34.87/hr
Please note this is a 11 month limited appointment that may convert
to career
Qualifications
Bachelor's
degree (preferred)
Working
knowledge of Medi-cal, HMO's, PPOs, third party payors, etc. authorizations and
eligibility requirements and regulations
Prior
experience working in a medical setting support service role
Ability
to perform the functions of patient encounters, registration, and appointment
scheduling
Prior
experience with EPIC (preferred)
Knowledge
of Microsoft Office Programs
Knowledge
of basic psychiatric terminology
Strong
writing skills to complete patient information and business correspondence
Skill
in performing basic arithmetic operations such as adding an subtracting
Ability
to interact appropriately and congenially with all staff, faculty,, students,
patients, and the public
Ability
to transcribe notes and messages
