The anticipated salary range for this role is between $119,000.00 and $160,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

JOB SUMMARY:

SMBC MANUBANK Marketing is seeking a dynamic, seasoned marketing leader with extensive experience developing strategic, creative and highly effective multi-media B2B and B2C strategies. You are skilled in people leadership, communication, product and brand marketing, customer experience design, content, social media, and digital and in-person channels, and data analytics. You will be responsible for interfacing with business leaders to create the marketing plan for the bank to achieve its business objectives. Your marketing plan will identify target audiences, develop positioning and messaging, identify winning tactics. You will also be responsible for guiding the execution of the plan to meet or exceed KPIs for brand awareness, client acquisition/retention, business development, and staff development. This role reports to the Head of Marketing & Product Management.

As a Marketing Manager/Director, you will:

  • Lead the Marketing Department. Coach and strengthen the skill set of the team.

  • Develop and oversee overall marketing plan and budget including creative, branding, content, advertising, digital and traditional collateral for assigned properties.

  • Oversee and manage copy, design direction, development, and production of marketing communications materials, such as brochures, website, presentations, email blasts, invitations, signage, sales tools, advertisements, direct marketing, etc.

  • Develop integrated marketing plans that set clear objectives, identify target segments, define market positioning and marketing programs, and support awareness/engagement/demand generation strategies across a wide range of content and channels and across the client lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product colleagues, and guide the implementation of an integrated marketing plan, including communication and engagement strategies across social, digital, human and emerging channels.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Product and lines of business to create and own goals and performance metrics for initiatives/campaigns monitor regularly to understand effectiveness of strategy and creative, making recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure brand consistency and overall success.

  • Oversee creative agency and the development of marketing materials. Manage image, brand and communications development and industry positioning for each assigned property. Oversee predevelopment of marketing materials: brochures, fact sheets, website, renderings etc.

  • Coordinate projects with external vendors, such as the ad agency, PR agencies, freelance designers and writers, photographers, printers and promotional material suppliers. Oversee consistent application of individual properties and corporate brand standards across all communications vehicles to increase sales and brand perception. Manage website development for assigned properties and corporate, including content and design updates.

  • Gather, analyze, and apply relevant customer insights and data to help define effective and innovative marketing strategies that drive business results that meet or exceed business goals.

  • Optimize marketing spend for marketing investments (e.g. digital, media, events, email marketing and nurturing)

  • Understand and keep up with industry trends that impact and highlight customer pain points to help target messaging

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy Development

  • Be the steward of the brand to ensure consistent tone and messaging across all channels.

  • Own the development of marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive client acquisition initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product colleagues, and other stakeholders to create and maintain content on all bank assets (website, intranet, sales collaterals), and ensure the content aligns with the brand identity.

  • Development of key strategic choices in marketing plans to achieve business objectives, including budget and capacity required.

  • Evaluate and leverage competitive analysis, client research and behavioral data to understand clients' motivations and goals and translate those insights into compelling stories and case studies that move prospects through the buying process.

  • Partner with Product Management and lines of business to develop go-to-market strategies for new bank solutions/new markets.

  • Strategic thinker, independent problem-solving skills, and ability to drive consensus. Ability to influence and interact with senior executives, business leaders and sales personnel effectively

  • Deeply curious and up-to-date on latest industry trends and competitors in a rapidly changing landscape

Initiative Execution

  • Responsible for initiative/campaign plans and briefs, developed in collaboration with Product and lines of business stakeholders, that are aligned to overarching go-to-market strategies, marketing plans, and annual goals / priorities

  • Support team focus on lifecycle marketing including demand generation and engagement/retention strategies

  • Ensure deliverables are aligned with initial plans and briefs, meet quality standards, and are embraced and used by the business

  • Regularly report to bank leadership on progress to plan and overall plan results, leveraging analytics to create dashboards to facilitate reporting

  • Ensure all product related material is up-to-date in the digital sales enablement platform (such as Seismic)

  • Evolve and optimize marketing strategies, driven by data and insights, in partnership with stakeholders

Knowledge & Skills

  • Cross-skilled across brand, content, media, channels, client experience, product marketing and data analytics

  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to shape clear strategic marketing strategies and plans, and effectively communicates that strategy throughout all levels of the organization

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to absorb large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data and translate them into strategic plans

  • Deep knowledge of product positioning and messaging, understanding how to scope and execute product marketing strategies needed to reach different client segments

  • A proven track record in leading strategic client acquisition and retention programs with data-driven marketing to drive results

  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills ability to provide clear and concise direction, and to influence others

  • Ability to translate business objectives into marketing goals and measurements

  • Energetic, collaborative and driven

  • Experience in data-driven approach

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

Required Education and Experience

  • BS Marketing Management, MBA preferred

  • 10+ years in integrated marketing roles, product marketing, brand marketing, segmentation marketing, communication, B2B and B2C Marketing, social media, digital marketing

  • 10+ years of data-driven marketing strategy planning and budget allocation experience

  • People leadership experience

  • Solid understanding of Salesforce Marketing

  • Experience developing cross-channel product and marketing plans

  • Experience interpreting marketing data to drive decision-making

  • Experience across customer experience design, brand strategy, paid and owned media strategy, content strategy and design, and using analytics.
