Description
UCLA TIES (Training, Intervention, Education, and Services) for Families is an interdisciplinary program dedicated to optimizing the growth and development of foster / adoptive children from birth to age 21, and their families. Under the supervision of the Mentoring Program manager, the Peer Mentor is responsible for providing support, guidance, and hope to clients of TIES via in person, telephone, email, or zoom platforms. The peer mentor functions as a role model and will offer a perspective either as an adoptive parent or as a youth involved with child welfare that will normalize the foster and adoptive process and transition behaviors.

Pay Range: $24.57 - $34.87 hourly.
Qualifications
Must be an adoptive parent or an adult adoptee or a former foster youth who resided in foster care for at least three years
Have had a positive experience with adoption
Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Experience with mentoring high risk youth or families
Discretionary skills to handle confidential/sensitive material
Ability to take direction and supervision
