Intuit Staff Software Quality Tax Analyst in Los Angeles, California

Overview

Come join the Professional Services Tax Import Group as a Staff Software Quality Analyst specializing in Tax. The Intuit Data Exchange organization partners with financial institutions, payroll organizations and other providers to deliver high quality data solutions for Intuit products. We work in an exciting, fast moving environment supporting industry-leading integrations. As a Staff SW Quality Analyst, you will help pave the road to cutting edge connectivity to enable a stress-free, awesome tax filing experience for users of TurboTax and other Intuit tax products. The ideal candidate will have expertise in technical project management and U.S. tax data regulations, with a strong fluency in data integrations and APIs.

What you'll bring

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Programming, Engineering, Tax Accounting or equivalent work experience, Masters preferred

  • 8+ years of experience with U.S. tax data & preparation, EA Certification preferred

  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for individuals and small businesses (Schedule C, 1120, 1120s, 1065, 1041, 990)

  • Understanding of self service and professional level tax preparation software

  • 5+ years technical project management experience

  • Fluency in data integrations, including web services and other APIs

  • Knowledge of Postman and test automation preferred

  • Knowledge of JavaScript and experience working with JSON

  • Familiarity with OpenID Connect and/or OAuth2 protocols

  • Strong project management skills (estimation, scope management, resource allocation, interdependencies; working across business and IT)

  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively across all levels both internally and with external data integration partners

  • Ability to quickly learn complex business processes and understand the underlying transactional systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and results oriented with a track record demonstrating strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize efforts and deliverables as a strong team contributor

  • Must have strong analytical skills, be decisive and detail-oriented

How you will lead

  • Define and maintain process gateways for technical implementation and operational maintenance of B2B tax integrations

  • Lead technical scoping discussions with external data partners for new tax implementations and conversions

  • Design and maintain leadership-level metrics to report status and health of multiple ongoing projects

  • Represent Intuit as a tax SME in key workgroups of the Financial Data Exchange (FDX)

  • Use applicable federal/state tax law to determine compliance and viability in software data fulfillment for Intuit’s suite of tax products

  • Execute tools and analyze results to assess partner system performance and ensure appropriate quality levels for tax data and integration reliability

  • Design and execute end-to-end test plans to validate tax integrations

  • Query server logs to analyze test results and troubleshoot as needed

  • Coach and mentor others on quality methods and techniques

  • End-to-end accountability for project/program deliverables by engaging decision makers at appropriate levels

  • Establish strategy and execution plan for the team's Quality deliverables

  • Leverage metrics and apply judgment to manage risk within project or product

  • Partner and collaborate across organizational boundaries
