As a Machinist III, you'll complete the fabrication of requested material to achieve defined specifications and provide responsive fabrication support. You'll apply your knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments and fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain our machines and equipment. You'll write programs for engineering drawings for machined part fabrication.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Advanced knowledge of machining techniques
Progressive experience with machining tools and equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of 3-D printing techniques
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
Additional Requirements:
Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors
Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes
Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
Occasionally exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials
Frequently exposed to loud noises
Safety Sensitive Position:
Responsible for the safety or security of people or property
Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles
Performs aviation related duties
Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery
