MISSION/ SUMMARY

With limited supervision from the R&D Director, the R&D Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the coordination, control, and logistics of R&D packaging projects. This person brings new packaging from the concept stage through the commercialization stage. The PM also develops existing and new GPI packaging concepts with a focus on bringing these concepts to a manufacturable conclusion.

JOB FUCTIONS : Job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manages the R&D packaging development process by composing detailed plans, timelines, and budgets to address project(s) scope and goals. Coordinates work within the R&D team to achieve project timelines.

  • Develops cost models for new packaging concepts, including capital estimation/requirements.

  • Leads R&D activities into creating further enhancements of GPl's packaging formats and combinations thereof.

  • Successfully manages several packaging projects simultaneously, keeping extreme focus on customer commitments and project timelines/milestones.

  • Writes materials, manufacturing, and performance specifications for new packaging products.

  • Composes detailed presentations on project(s) progress. Leads discussions on project(s), and presents updates/reports to senior staff and customers.

  • Regularly meets with customers to assess their packaging needs, and designs projects to satisfy these needs/requirements.

EDUCATION:

  • BS/BA, preferably in a scientific discipline.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in packaging/converting industry.

SKILLS:

  • Proficient with MS office software, including MS Project.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.;

  • Ability to work safely in the industrial laboratory environment, including working with industrial chemicals and manufacturing machines.

  • Comfortable conversing/presenting in group settings with customers, team members, and upper management.

  • Moderate travel (-1-2 trips per month) will be required for this position.

Salary Min: $117,920.00

Salary Mid: $157,190.00

Salary Max: $196,460.00
