University of Louisville Data Analyst III (EHS Data Analyst/Programmer) in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience in data analysis, programming, and database systems or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Position Description:The Environmental Health and Safety Data Analyst/Programmer will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting EHS data to support decision-making processes within the organization. Additionally, they will develop and maintain software solutions to enhance data management and reporting capabilities in environmental health and safety.This position is located on the Belknap Campus however may be required to travel to Health Science Center and Shelby Campus.Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Data Collection and Analysis:Gather and consolidate EHS data from various sources.Clean, validate, and process data to ensure accuracy and reliability.Perform statistical analysis and data mining techniques to identify trends and patterns, in employee and research safety, as well as potential safety gaps.Generate insightful reports and visualizations including dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.Lead effort to create parameters for data collection to ensure that data is usable and can be compared over time.Review findings from above tasks with DEHS leadership for implementation and planning purposes.2. Software Development and Maintenance:Design, develop, and maintain software applications and tools to streamline EHS data management processes.Collaborate with institutional stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Development and implementation of data processing pipelines, data integration solutions, and automated workflows.Ensure the security, scalability, and efficiency of departmental and institution- wide software systems.3. Quality Assurance:Conduct rigorous testing of software solutions to identify and address bugs, errors, and performance issues.Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and best practices.Continuously monitor and optimize system performance to meet the needs of end-users.4. Documentation and Training:Create comprehensive documentation including user guides, technical specifications, and system manuals.Provide training and support to end-users on software applications and data analysis tools at department and institution- wide level.Collaborate with departmental and other university teams and partners across the institution to ensure effective knowledge transfer, skill development and solid understanding by stakeholders.Serve as a resource for follow-up questions and analysis with the goal of refining and improving procedures to maximize EHS stakeholders (e.g. researchers, facility managers, etc.) success.5.
