We are looking for a Medical Manager Oncology in Austria:

Job Purpose

  • Accountable for the medical strategy of the Solid Tumors Therapeutic Area (TA) and execution to achieve business & company objectives

  • Co-leads selected Country Value Team (CVT) by providing medical strategic input and TA expertise (in alignment with ML Hem/Onc)

  • Leads the Solid Tumors MAs and MPCs by coordinating, coaching, training and developing talent and continuously improving processes and ways of working

  • Provides thought leadership, subject matter and medical expertise across the organization as well as in external forums

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts a driving member of selected CVTs within the TA in alignment with the Medical Lead

  • Performs strategic portfolio-management and development of a long-term Solid Tumors therapeutic area strategy in close collaboration with selected EMEA Functional Network & CVTs

  • Leads the Solid Tumors therapeutic area in the development of the Medical Affairs (MAF) plan in line with the EMEA/IBVT medical strategy. Accountable that the MAF Plans are aligned to the overall Business Plan, Account Management Plans and monitors execution of the MAF Plans

  • Forecasts and accountable for the management of the medical budget for the Solid Tumors therapeutic area

  • Accountable for tracking and reviewing quantitative and qualitative KPIs within team (such as securing MAs 20% field allocation, IBVT content re-use, MAC, NPS etc.)

  • Responsible for the development and succession planning as well as capability building of direct reports

  • Drives an optimal cross-functional collaboration in the TA between Commercial, Sales, Medical Affairs and Market Access

  • Establishes relationships to external stakeholders and builds a network of KOLs and stakeholder associations

  • Reviews and certifies medical education material, succinct statements and all other material that has to be approved.

  • Responsible for reviewing SMPC/Succinct Statements,and CMIRs/DMIRs

  • Fosters development and implementation of innovative, customer-driven as well as patient-centric solutions

  • Optimally collaborates with the Global Clinical Operations (GCO)

  • Provides medical expertise in support of local product registration and reimbursement

  • Supports audit and inspection readiness and implementation of TA-related tasks and activities during or after audits and inspections

  • Ensures accountability of all team members, effective decision-making and empowerment to the lowest possible level

  • Acts as role model for living the J&J Credo and shows full compliance with J&J Credo and HCBI principles to preserve trust and reputation towards HCP and patients using the products

  • Responsible for the implementation of ABCT culture (accountability, belonging, courage, trust) within the team, as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives

  • Acts as role model for change management

  • Shares proven success models and best practices with EMEA and MSM

  • Performs ad-hoc project work on request

Qualifications

Professional

  • Scientific degree: Medical Doctor, Pharmaceutical or Natural Science university degree

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant work experience within the TA (with experience in other TAs an advantage)

  • Medical Affairs field experience (as MSL or managing MSLs)

  • Leadership experience as an advantage

  • Leadership and medical expertise in the development of patient centric strategic programs in line with global strategy

  • Experience in supporting local product registration

  • Project Management Skills

  • Deep knowledge of the therapeutic area, strength in research and interpretation of medical data

  • Good knowledge of Austrian Pharma industry and Health Care Environment

  • Fluency in German and English required

Job Location: Office based with 10-20% external customer interaction time
