Commonwealth of Pennsylvania HVAC Refrigeration Technician in Loysville, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

An HVAC Refrigeration Technician performs skilled work at the journey level installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and heating units to ensure safe and efficient operations at our 24/7 facility. You will respond to service calls and emergency situations, diagnose malfunctions, and use automated systems to monitor circulation in buildings. Additionally, you will interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals and consult with facility maintenance managers about plans and specifications for new or existing equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Schedule is subject to emergency call-ins and may change based on operational needs. 
  • Overtime and travel as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician trainee program (commonwealth title); or
  • Three years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, units, and equipment including one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls.  

     

Special Requirements:

  • All employees must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment. 
  • This position requires an active motor vehicle license.

     

     Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

     

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

    1. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
