Position Description:
Employees in this classification are responsible for the performance of manual work involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Work is performed under supervision according to established procedures and methods, and is checked frequently and evaluated for the accomplishment of assigned tasks.

Major/Essential Functions:
Cleaning is done according to the standards set by the department. Proper methods and procedures should be followed at all times in all areas with consistent accuracy.
Promotes and practices safety in the workplace. Maintains an accident-free operation. Uses and cares for equipment safely and properly. Chemicals are used safely and properly to avoid waste or accidents.
Performs work including emergency cleanup of rooms, summer conferences and cleanup, specialty floor or carpet cleaning, winter break cleaning, weekend work schedule, and all related work as required. Paying attention to detail in all areas.
Reports needed repairs and property damage. Leaves work areas clean and orderly, including all work-related equipment, custodial closets, and break room areas.
