Heilind Mil-Aero, LLC Product Manager in Lumberton, New Jersey

JOB SUMMARY

The Product Manager is responsible for presenting and promoting their supplier's products to our sales team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain a full understanding of your supplier's policies, procedures, contacts, and products.
  • Negotiate special pricing on daily transactions or "package" requirements.
  • Work with sales to develop strategy on quotes.
  • Drive new business activity to achieve forecasted goals for sales, GP%.
  • Provide supplier input and market intelligence to assist with strategy on major quotes.
  • Develop and cultivate positive relationships with our suppliers.
  • Establish high level supplier relationships.
  • Initiate stocking package suggestions.
  • Work with sales/asset on strategic buy requests.
  • Coordinate huddle calls with sales to discuss strategic opportunities.
  • Timely communication with suppliers on new quote opportunities.
  • Drive a quote follow up process to disposition quotes/ meet comps.
  • Work with sales/asset on strategic buy requests.
  • Provide technical data as required.
  • Work closely with ICC marketing on promoting new products and stocking packages.
  • Co-develop and facilitate supplier-sales trainings.
  • Provide price and delivery information as required.
  • Communicate important supplier updates to sales in a timely manner.
  • Support sales to increase revenue and achieve total customer satisfaction by working directly with suppliers on quotes to obtain the most competitive position possible.
  • Support sales as a product expert and be able to provide alternate solutions with other suppliers.
  • Leading product-training sessions, promoting lines with Sales and Management in addition to monitoring and driving branch sales promotions.

Texas - Plano

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four plus years related sales/marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two or more years' experience in the electronic component distribution industry or closely related field preferred.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a US Citizen due to Naval Contractual Agreements.
  • Must be able to report to our Lumberton, NJ or Plano, Tx office during scheduled in-office workdays.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in-group problem solving situations.
  • Customer service skills - Ability to nurture and grow key supplier relationships with, among other activities, timely responses to requests for service and assistance; ability to manage difficult situations to positive resolutions.
  • Business acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; maintains appropriate focus on profitability; keeps abreast of the market and the competition.
  • Communications skills- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and capable of persuasively doing so in both positive and negative situations; a good listener with ability to keep emotions under control; writes clearly and correctly with an ability to vary writing style depending on audience and objectives. Including presentation skills.
  • Planning & Organization- Ability to establish a clear plan of action and direct and manage execution of the plan to achieve intended results.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite at the intermediate level preferred.
  • Possesses excellent knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, gross profit analysis, market and vendor analysis and economics of distribution.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
