About this Position

As a Rotors Advanced Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the team’s rotors design efforts supporting the F404/F414 platform for U.S. Navy customer, as well as numerous commercial and foreign military customers. Your responsibilities may include: Managing and executing U.S. Navy Component Improvement Programs, leading new product introductions (NPI), and evaluating new engine applications for the fan and compressor module. In addition to this you will be the hardware owner providing the design intent for sourcing and producing rotor hardware.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute U.S. Navy Component Improvement Programs, lead new product introductions (NPI), and evaluate new engine applications for the fan and compressor module.

  • Fully owns and is responsible for Turbofan and Turbojet fan and compressor engine rotor hardware, such as shafts, disks, spools, and blisks

  • Conducts complex component, module, or systems level analysis and hardware expertise utilizing tools such as Unigraphics and ANSYS.

  • Coordinates and completes technical and program reviews with senior leadership teams.

  • Executes complex projects, while managing program schedule and financial work scope to meet business needs.

  • Influences, coordinates and leads teams toward complex goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant engineering position

Desired Characteristics

  • 4-5 years of experience in design engineering

  • Rotors MRB certification

  • Experience working on F414/F404 cold section hardware

  • Strong experience influencing, coordinating and leading teams toward complex goals.

  • Experience with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS, 3D modelling software such as NX Unigraphics, and use of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and Microsoft Office suite

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.
