Otis Technology Area Specialist in Lyons Falls, New York

Area Specialist @ Otis Technology - We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Area Specialist to join our production team. This manufacturing team member will ensure that production meets or exceeds the quality and quantity requirements in the safest and most efficient manner feasible while promoting and maintaining a team environment within and surrounding the Cell Team area. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of customer expectations, both internal and external, and will ensure that resources are effectively utilized to meet or exceed those expectations.The Minimum Qualifications and Experience needed to be successful are 1-5 Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, 1+ Years’ experience working with manufacturing machinery and equipment,  must have a High school degree or GED, college grad is preferred but not mandatory, experience working in a “Lean” environment a plus as we are all about "Lean" and experience managing people is a plus but we are willing to train this skill.Responsibilities:OperationsEnsures operational quality, processes and policies are being metUnderstands and meets production goals within their Cell Team in a manner that allows for timely and efficient completion of productionCoaches, sets expectations and addresses issues within the Cell TeamEnsures Skills Matrix is up to date promoting best utilization of associates including cross-training within and outside of Cell Team, provides insight on Cell Team associates to Production Supervisor for annual review and training opportunitiesResponsible for having the right Work in Process (WIP) and Finished Good (FG) inventory (kanban) on hand to meet customer needs both internally and externallyManages the development, implementation and maintenance of standard work including documents and practicesMaintains all required recordkeeping and reports results as necessary (ex. Ahead behind boards, changeover, scrap, pieces per hour etc.)Accountable for system transactions, inventory accuracy (ex. scrap adjustments and scanning work tickets etc.)Continual ImprovementDirects training and development of associates in a way that allows for proper work cell coverage and optimal flexibilityDrives Lean Manufacturing conceptsResponsible for periodic workplace walks/audits to identify continual improvement opportunities and workplace safety (ex - gemba walks, waste hunts, 5S etc.)Assists other Area Specialists as needed, including assistance to Cell Teams when dedicated Area Specialist is unavailableActs as a liaison between Cell Team associates and the Production SupervisorLean QMS Responsibilities:Understand and complies with the QMS requirements as they relate to themComplies with the organization Policies and Procedures ManualComplies with regulatory and statutory requirementsKnows and can explain the Quality Policy in their own words and how they impact carrying out the requirements of the policy in the job that they doPerforms their essential job functions as defined by job dutiesKey Competencies:Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with individuals or Cell Teams of all levels within the organizationUnderstands how their actions as well as those of their Cell Team contribute to the performance and financial success of the organizationUtilizes the information available to them to plan, analyze and make decisions; when information is not available they work with the appropriate people to find or generate itAdvanced time management skills; Punctual and highly reliableAnalytical with demonstrated problem solving skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeAdvanced Interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to teach, coach and train individualsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and maintain machinery and equipmentAbility to delegate responsibilities and perform under pressureFocus on Continual Improvement Otis technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer
