At GDIT, our employees are driven, resourceful, and unwavering. As a Software Engineer supporting our client, you will be trusted to work in a full stack software development environment, using Python and SQL. In this role, a typical day will include:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provides competencies in full-stack development to support assessments of a social media program in Tampa, FL.

  • The software engineer will be responsible for designing and developing software applications, data models, and databases in support of program assessment strategies as they relate to both individual/team performance and the overall fulfillment of program objectives.

  • ​Must be able to design and develop software applications, data models, and databases with Python and SQL

  • Researches, identifies, tests, implements and leverages technical solutions, including artificial intelligence/machine learning solutions, to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness of a project. Integrates research and development efforts with program-wide efforts to create shared learning and best practices. Liaises with related internal and approved external technology-based entities to ensure project integration within broader program efforts. Identifies opportunities for technical solutions to improve integration of operational project aspects. Assists in supervision, installation, testing, and setup of new solutions. Maintains current knowledge of applicable and emerging technologies.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required

  • 2+ years of related full stack software development experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics or related highly quantitative field

  • Ability to apply advanced analytics capabilities to derive insights from a combination of unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data

  • Demonstrable experience programming in Python and SQL

  • Knowledge of Excel and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI

  • Experience with C2IE and NoSQL databases is a plus

  • Ability to work nonstandard hours and in on-call status for periods of time may be required.

  • The work environment is fast-paced, fluid and highly collaborative, but requires candidates with skill sets to complete projects with minimal supervision.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
