The Field Sales Manager role is an excellent opportunity supporting our Structural Heart division.

Responsibilities

Sales Management

  • Recruit, retain and develop highly talented staff; motivate and engage employees to achieve set goals and objectives

  • Actively implement and execute on strategies to improve the sales force effectiveness of reports including, routine coaching of selling skills, review of business development plans and consistent performance feedback.

  • In conjunction with senior management, sales managers and field staff oversee and/or negotiate commercial deals, tenders and contracts with customers and stakeholders.

  • Work closely with Product Managers and senior management to roll out marketing strategies.

  • Develop relationships with key opinion leaders & customers to develop sales and business strategies in line with company strategies, fulfilling customer needs

  • Manage the administrative requirements including case coverage, staff leave and travel requests.

Territory Management

  • Achieve sales targets and increase market share for assigned territory

  • Actively implement and execute on sales force effectiveness initiatives to help drive business growth and sales skills development including strategic territory and account planning, customer profiles and sales training.

  • Utilise available sales analysis tools to assist in territory planning.

  • Develop relationships with and service key customer groups, identify and utilise key customer networks.

  • Utilise internal resources to assist servicing customers within your territory.

  • Maintain accurate customer profiles.

  • Maintain up to date product knowledge and actively participate in education programs.

  • Assist with product marketing and launches.

  • Provide market feedback on product and competitor activity.

Business Functions

  • Manage consignment stock requirements.

  • Attend to/comply with customer service and other administrative requirements within the required timeframe.

  • This role may require weekend responsibilities to fulfil your duties.

  • Attend company sales meetings and customer events as required.

  • Have a sound understanding of, and comply with, the industry (MTAA) the Abbott and Company Compliance requirements

  • Handle and document customer complaints according to Abbott ANZ Field Event Reporting Standard Operating Procedure.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the requirements of the Abbott Quality Management System.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to Work, Health & Safety responsibilities.

  • Action any other customer complaints with relevant Abbott ANZ Business Unit.

  • Adhere to applicable Abbott / SJM ANZ Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Perform other related functions and responsibilities as directed by Manager.

Travel

  • Interstate and possibly international travel may be required to fulfil your duties.

Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

Industry Experience

  • Good understanding of the industry process and function; able to convincingly discuss the industry process and function with customers, as well as internal and external experts.

Selling Skills

  • Selling skills that include managing customer relationships, discovery of customer needs/requirements, follow up of sales leads, demonstrating the products, able to develop solutions and resolve problems, negotiating and closing the deal.

Qualifications

  • Tertiaryqualificationsinbiomedical/engineering/medicalscience/humanmovementorrelatedfield(Coronary Care Nursing/Cardiac Technician)
