Job Summary
At SuperATV we are working to WOW our customers with innovative, race-tested products and world class customer service. Currently, we have an opportunity for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Design Engineer to add to our team. This critical role will help continue SuperATV’s growth and impact in the off-roading industry.
Primary Duties
Design and analyze layouts, components, and detail drawings for new products with a Project Manager and design team.
Be the lead reference for a small team of design engineers. Responsibilities would include conducting a peer review of designs with the designers, involvement in a formal design review, and assistance at the prototype try on process, as well as being a general overall point of reference for your design team.
Apply drawing tolerances using spec limits and GD&T. Perform accurate tolerance stack-up analysis.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of all CAD work (your own as well as team members) and maintain well organized records; utilize 3D modeling software to produce new 3D models and drawings, and drawings or revised designs.
Work closely with test engineers to create appropriate test and validation plans for your and your team’s designs.
Apply concurrent engineering techniques on all projects, and work and communicate closely with all team members from your group, other groups, and various other departments.
Ability to run FEA to determine that proper materials and designs are being utilized.
Ability to multi-task, keeping your Team’s project timelines on task while also maintaining your own.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates have familiarity with manufacturing processes, metal fabrication, machining, welding and shop floor experience.
Qualified candidates will be capable of developing descriptive geometry, auxiliary view, projections, sectioning and tolerance on all engineering drawings. Must be proficient with SolidWorks CAD software for 3D modeling.
Education / Experience
A degree in a related field is preferred.
Two plus years experience preferred.
