Canton Municipal Utilities Gas Utility Worker in Madison, Mississippi
This position is for a Gas Utility Worker with a company in Canton, MS.
Duties and Responsibilities: Install plastic gas distribution lines. Repair leaks on gas distribution systems. Operates trenching, excavation, and polyethylene fusion equipment. Assists in gas line leak detection. Tapping mains. Gas meter installation. Performs semi-skilled work assisting a higher classified employee. Must be able to read and comply with all required company standards and procedures. Follow the direction of their crew lead and/or supervisor at all times. Operate light duty trucks and associated trailers. With adequate training and under direction of a Crew Leader, may be required to: use hand tools, portable power tools, pavement breakers, spaders, tampers or compactors for work not requiring precision; perform pipe wrapping duties. Must work in a team environment. May be required to perform traffic control functions under the direction of a Gas Crew Leader. To better represent the community we serve within a timely manner, applicants who live within 30 minutes of Canton Municipal Utilities. Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Education and Experience: Must be at least 18. High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license.
