We are seeking an Assistant Teacher who will be responsible for the health, safety and well-being of Center children in one of our Infant classrooms. Additionally, the Assistant Teacher incumbent will assist in the implementation of curriculum to infants that will develop strong skills and physical, social, and emotional confidence in a rich environment.The F.M. Kirby Children's Center is a former elementary school that features a full-size gym, provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and five playgrounds that serve all age groups. Qualifications: CDA preferred or 9+ECE credits, not required.1+ years previous experience working in a daycare setting or with children preferred, but not required.Prior experience working with infants preferred, but not required.Minimum of 18 years of age.Possess at hire, OR acquire CPR, First Aid, as offered by the Center or obtain within 30 days of hire. Will train.Working Conditions: Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time, while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. May also require bending, kneeling, and leaning.Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is possible.Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Able to administer first aid. Ability to withstand a wide range of outside temperatures.
