GE Healthcare Defect Engineering Specialist in Madison, Wisconsin

Job Description Summary

As a Defect Engineering Specialist, you will be in charge of the overall Madison Material Review Board (MRB) process; including working with internal site engineering, product quality, materials, and finance to ensure timely execution of MRB processes with the goal of limiting/reducing aged MRB material and scrap.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Retrieve and/or generate MRB relevant reports to ensure timely processing of MRB parts.

Lead and coordinate daily, weekly and monthly Material Review Board status and metrics meetings or results.

Assist/advise Product Quality and Mfg. Engineering teams on areas needing MRB disposition support

Provide work prioritization communications to MRB coordinators

Review and disposition field return items

Review and disposition items rejected at incoming inspection

Ensure technical problem-solving and follow up.

Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

Recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.

Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

Comply with Environment, Health and Safety regulations & policies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or local equivalent.

At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Specialized training in a technical area.

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field.

Attention to detail.

Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

Knowledge of validation work.

Technical expertise on relevant manufacturing themes.
