JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of the Information School (iSchool), teach one or more of the following courses in an online format for the spring semester of the 2024-25 academic year: LIS 501 Introduction to Text Mining LIS 635 Reference and Information Service LIS 711 Data Management for Information Professionals LIS 722 College and University Libraries (online) LIS 751 Database Design for Information Professionals Duties include: preparation of a syllabus in consultation with iSchool staff, preparation and grading of assignments and examinations, holding synchronous office hours and communicating with students via email, virtual meetings, or by other means. Responsibilities: Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record. 80% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance 10% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction 10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
