GE Healthcare ME Engineering co-ops work on a variety of assignments with responsibilities and hands-on involvement in product design cycles. There will be project-oriented assignments where a manager and mentor are assigned for support. These positions will work primarily with Anesthesia and Respiratory Care (ARC) products.

Job Description

Position Description:

ME engineering co-ops utilize 3D modeling, CAD tools, and technical documentation skills to verify, test and document new product(s) as well as support design changes throughout the product lifecycle.

ME engineering co-ops interact with cross-functional teams to understand design and business constraints. They take initiative, manage projects, and communicate effectively to drive business outcomes.

This Co-Op role is for Spring/Summer 2025 .

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (in a 4.0 scale)

  • High self-confidence

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms

  • Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering disciplines

  • Proven leadership skills and experience

  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and within teams

  • Able to work for a minimum of 28 weeks

  • Must be currently in or be willing to relocate to position location

  • Must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing or research experience in the design field

  • Strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering

  • Demonstrated analytic approach to problem solving

  • Proven adaptable to difficult situations

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and community involvement
