JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: A Scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. David Evans at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The successful applicant will lead studies directed towards achieving a functional cure for HIV-1 infection, defined as the indefinite suppression of virus replication in the absence of antiretroviral drug therapy. Research projects will involve a variety of methods, including molecular biology, biochemistry, cellular immunology, and the use of nonhuman primate models, to test novel drugs and antibody-based therapies to suppress virus replication. This is an opportunity for candidates who are interested in additional training beyond postdoctoral research or who would like to find a long-term research position. Responsibilities will include: planning, organizing, and managing laboratory experiments and animal studies; training and supervising laboratory personnel; performing molecular biology and cell culture experience; working with collaborators; preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals.
