Summary This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY JOINT OPERATIONS CENTER TECHNICIAN - Title 32, Position Description Number D1244000 and is part of the WI JFHQ J3, Wisconsin National Guard. Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY JOINT OPERATIONS CENTER TECHNICIAN - Title 32, GS-0301-10, you will effectively manage, direct and oversee the operation of the Joint Operations Center processes. Coordinates as necessary with all applicable base agencies, higher headquarters major commands, Federal, state, and local agencies. Employee makes assignments, implements mission changes, ensures the work of the joint operations center is carried out in an efficient and timely manner, and oversees all command and control training programs. Serves as the joint operations center subject matter expert for all joint operation activities. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Military Grades: E-6 through E-9, WO1 through CW5 (Army) and O-1 through O-2 Conditions of Employment: - National Guard Membership is required. - Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. - Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. - May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. - Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. - This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. - Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. - May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required. - The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0301-10 level, you must have at least 12 months of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer School, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of 1 month of education for 2 months of specialized experience. You must submit your proof of course completion or transcipts in order to substitute education for specialized experience.
